Day 1 3pm-5pm Exercise Sedona (enter via Hwy 179) Red Rock State Park (park in the "Village of Oak Creek" and enter park from the south-east side) Hike the "Smoke Trail" along Oak Creek, a short easy walk.
Day 2 allow plenty of time: Forest Service Road! leave  from your hotel in SVV area with your rental car!
Day 2 9:30am-11:30am Historical/Cultural Sedona Palatki & Honanki Heritage Sites
Day 2 12pm-12:45pm Lunch Cottonwood Tour Old Town and take the Jail Trail
Day 2 1pm-1:45pm Historical/Cultural Clarkdale Tuzigoot National Monument
Day 2 2:15pm-4pm Sightseeing Jerome Ghost Town
Day 2 4pm-..... Sightseeing Sedona Sliderock State Park, Oak Creek Canyon, then continue on to Grand Canyon
If your are coming from the Grand Canyon heading south, come down Oak Creek Canyon, drive through Sedona and the Village of Oak Cree, go to V-V, then do Montezuma, continue to Fort Verde, take route 260 to Sedona, use lower Red Rock Loop Road (before you enter west Sedona) to cruise Red Rock State Park. The next morning begin with Palatki and Honanki, Old Town Cottonwood and Dead Horse Ranch State Park, on to Tuzigoot, and then Ghost Town Jerome. From Jerome keep going west over the mountain to Prescott and take Hwy 69 back to I17 to go to Phoenix.
